Come home from the upside down. It’s cold here, and Australia burns.

It’s very exhausting to eat an elephant
-I have a lot to do
Technically speaking this one is for school… but I finished it early?
I’m trying to stay on track with a book a week and this was a crazy week, so here we are, with a schoolbook instead of a pleasure read.
It’s all good though.
I give this one a 4/5
Lewis is a great communicator, I was just not quite interested in it.
Write hard and clear about what hurts.
You know what hurts?
Not being able to name what hurts.
Knowing there’s something but just being stuck in the cycle of pain and sadness… what do you even do with that?
You know what hurts?
Being yelled at.
Being helpless.
Needing something and being unable to ask for help.
Asking for help and being shamed for it.
Desperation.
You know what hurts me most?
My friend’s pain. The pain I can’t do anything about.
That desperation.
Helplessness.
Helplessness hurts me more than anything else.
But I have bigger problems.
Life just feels better when you actually eat three meals a day.
-Why do I not do this

My DEAR Doctor Doolittle I am so VERY pleased to make your acquaintance, I am a fan of your books I’m DREADFULLY excited about your movie.
I loved this movie.
Is it perfect? no.
Did I find any fault with it? yes.
Would I recommend? yes, 10/10
For anyone who can stomach a couple medical procedures (none of them bloody,) a whiny gorilla, a little potty humor, and a fiery dragon, GO SEE THIS MOVIE!!

Three stars.
Did not enjoy.
I am greatly disturbed.
And somewhat annoyed.
And also in awe.
Okay WHY is this a classic and WHY, when I feel it is poorly written, is it also so absolutely horrifying and thought provoking?
You know what hurts?
Broken promises.
Someone saying they don’t want you.
– I can’t even save myself
– idolization of heroics
“please put on your mask before assisting others”
-helping people is a dangerous job
Are our fates in the hands of destiny? Are we really in control of our lives?
One perfect, beautiful night… John and Sara spent one evening together, drawn inexplicably into each other’s lives by what Sara deems destiny. And then… they are torn apart by an unfortunate elevator.
And the rest of the movie is spent in many almost-meetings and is so incredibly STRESSFUL.
